- Cationic surfactant. It is also known as BAC, ADBAC, BCK, and DDBAC. Benzyl chloride and dimethyl alkyl amine react with each other in the presence of water to give BKC. It is a quaternary ammonium compound.
- Aftershave, mouthwash, sanitizer, cosmetics, nasal sprays, and laundry detergents. It is also used in hand/face wash liquid formulations, ulcer treatments and disinfectants for surgical instruments, preoperative skin disinfectant, softeners for textiles, deodorants, and hair products.
